Chinese Marriage Tradition. Usually 2 weeks before your AD wedding. 

I had mine on 25th Nov 2012. It was a sunday and it is more like a gambling place for everyone instead. Too many people turn up and didnt have much time to take many pictures. 

 Both side parents are not very particular to do a full traditional " Guo Da Li". 

We have some basic stuffs that we think are quite necessary and easy to get too. Haha. 

Below are the list of stuffs that we have.

Guy side :

12 oranges 

2 Martels

4 dian jin ( I am a Teochew )

Pin Jin  ( $8888 )

12 pig trotters cans

5 boxes of teochew xi bing

2 boxes of biscuits ( Some traditional biscuits 0

Traditional 3D basket to put all the pig trotters and oranges

1 red cloth ( to cover the ping jin red packet )

Girl Side:

2 oranges to exchanges

( Suppose the girl side to buy Phoenix and Guy to buy Dragon Candles to exchange ) 

Few packets of Yan

( to put at newly wed room some corner so that the bride will have good r/s w family members)

Sewing kit

2 boxes of jewellery

Return of some $ back to the groom

Sweet Stuffs:  

The fruit tarts, mini cholocate eclairs and 7 layer rainbow kway are super nice and cheap too. 

around $0.60 each. I cant remember the prices.  

They have many other types of kway, interested party can give them a call to find out =) 

Gin Thye Cake Maker has many branches and we went to the sembawang branch which is opossite chong pang market. I can say they are a very old cake maker and it is so hard to find traditional cakes nowadays. Their cakes are freshly make and they not only cater for wedding, they provide cakes for baby shower etc. I will drop by some other day to buy some cakes to eat for fun.  As for the Shuang Xi Le, their prices may not be the cheapest but what attracts is the friendly sale consultant. She is not pushy and recommend to you what is really necessary. She also very nice to explain stuffs to you. If you are on budget, many these kinda stalls at China Town. My mummy went and she said is cheap and they have many things. The sewing kit was from there. $10. I remember . Below are some links to various shops that i have mention. AD Make up Artist

My Pre-Wedding Make Up Artist

She is a very experience and creative make up artist. She has more than 10 years of experience and counting on. I get to know her from Fables, My Malaysia Bridal Shop. I did not have any trial for my pre wedding. The usual me, I do not put very heavy make up. I simply love her after she make up for me. Same as other bridal shops, I paid for the ampoule and fake eye lashes. She is very fast in her make up. She can handle 3 couples make up together. I only can say only experience make up artist can do that.

I tried other make up artist and I did not like her style even though she is slightly cheaper. In the end, I hired Shirlene to be my AD make up artist. I can tell you people that I love her " on the spot " creativity and she is like know what you want . She always give me hair design and make up above expectations. I paid her S$680 for morning and night make up. For 2nd march in is S$160. I think was slightly expensive but most of my friends were telling me is normal and that is market rate. Truthfully I would rather be a make up artist rather than photographer for wedding . Haha. They earn so much more and do so little stuffs. Haha.

Sailor Theme

I am not a very theme person. Honestly if you wanna play theme wedding, either your buddies are all very into it or your guests are very on. One degree 15 gives me a feel of sailor-sailor kinda feeling. So I have decided to have my super on 6 sisters and 6 brothers to dress up as sailor. As our wedding flavour is One Degree sailor bears, most of our decorations are using bears.

 See my bed top, full of bears. These bears are used to decorate the reception area. Dont be surprised, the bears and decorations are more than these. Haha

You will be surprised that sourcing for 12 sailors uniforms are not as easy I thought it will be. I went to the uniform rental shop. Masquerade. Per uniform is $50 with hats. However they only have 5 sets for the girls and guys. The best thing is they come in sizes. Mean you must have your brothers and sisters sizes range from S to XL. Haha

I even went to customise polo t shirt wanting to print a sailor bear on the polo t. Firstly around $30 per piece. And those navy blue I want are out of stock. Had no choice to source again.

Desperately I even go to find my friend who own a sex blogshop. The materials are good and is nice. Just that they are meant to be wear in the room rather than outside. You know what I mean. If you are keen, can go to this website to take a look =)

 Jolene, have to use this picture because I only have this picture. But not to worry, you look good in this. This is the top I buy at Bugis. Per top is $25. I bought sailor pin. Very cute spec and stripped ribbon to tie on the hand. I couldnt find any sailor hat or cap. Those that I saw either is out of budget or it too ugly. LOL. As for the guy, they have the same top with black 3/4 short. Black pant with black blazar to be worn at night for the banquet. They have the sailor pin on their top as well. =)

I am unable to upload more pictures as all my photo will only be ready in Jan. The actual place is much more beautiful.  Like I mention in the previous post.the solemisation places you can have it at the floating platform, nova room and free of charge place like the reception area if you book their banquet. To what I know I have a friend who did her solemisation at the floating platform and with buffet, costs more than $2000 + . But if you book their function room, the floating platform and nova room is only $500. To us, it's worth it;. Btw for the nova room, the decorations like the flowers you seen in the picture, need to have extra charges. Which One Degree 15 liaises with June Florist. Definitely you can outsource to your own personal florists but extra chargers. =)

 

The fun part is you able to sit this buggy to the floating platform area. If you have extra budget you may like to ask your florist to decor the buggy. I have the picture by the problem is the picture is the other angle everytime I try to upload. 

 

Another plus point about One Degree 15. Even though is very far inside Sentosa. They give us 2 shuttles buses to fetch your guest from your designated locations to One Degree 15. To and fro. =)

 

 Oh majority of the hotel will give the couple a 1 or 2 days stay at their room. For One Degree 15, I do not like their seaview room as I find with the low ceiling, the room looks small. So they give me the junior suite and with our bargaining power. We able to have 2 days stay at their junior suite. They also give us 2 helper rooms with 1 day stay. If you are wedding couple or you have One Degree 15 membership, you can book the room for your relatives or friends if they want to stay at a lower price. Estimate $200 +.

 As I am too poor to own a yacht, Haha I dont think I am able to in this life time.  

Was told by Vincent that if happen the house yacht is not rent by people, we are able to go up the yacht to take some pictures. Lucky us that the yacht is not occupied that day. We took some pictures on the yacht after my solemisation in the early evening.
