Honeymoon Part 4 - The Netherlands - Amsterdam

Day 6: 17th April 2013 Wednesday

Today we are at The Netherlands. Touring Zannse Schans, a Dutch village dotted with windmills and cottages. See below is the cute cottage house. We are going to see how wooden clog is made. The weather is like 11 degree. Cold with the wind.

Mr Clog Maker is demonstrate how a clog shoe is made from a piece of squarish wood. I did not take video on how they are made from scratch. However I found a video exactly what we see at there.

Many people will buy back for decoration purpose on their wall rather than wearing them. Too many designs to choose from. Many many souvenirs of small clog shoes designs like magnets, pens, key chains can be purchase from here. Good place to shop for gifts for your love ones.

The umbrella is so cute. Too bad I dont use umbrella. Haha

Outdoor big clog shoe for photo taking purpose

I love their trees. Never cant find these kind of trees in Singapore.
I miss this place so much.

Out in the nature. Duck Spotted.

The windmill

The cheese house.

Cheese farm. Going to start the cheese demonstration.

There is so many flavors and cheese packages are so colourful.

The red one is chilli flavor and green one is herbal flavor.

The chocolate waffle with a hot chocolate, nothing beats having that during the cold weather.

The Souvenir Coin Making Machine !

The most-must visit place in Amsterdam - Keukenhof. This is an optional tour. Dont you agree with me that it is a must visit place in Amsterdam to see all the flowers blooming. As Spring come late this year, not all the flowers are blooming. I believe if we come a month later, the place will be even more beautiful.

A sign: Do not step on the grasses.
My naughty dear dear says mean we can step on the flowers. I nearly fainted when he said that.

I love their trees.

This place is more beautiful than Taiwan.

They have the mini farm over here. Rabbits are hopping around.

You can feed the horses and goats here.

Hehe. We look cute here.

There are so many different kind of colours and type of tulips here.
The big pots are everywhere.

We are heading into the Green House. Where you can see many types of flowers here.
Especially Tulips and Roses.

Below are some of the pictures I took with my Samsung Note 2. They are so nice that they look so fake.
Reminder, they are absolutely real and this is what we exact see on the spot.
The flowers are so nice that I need not need to mention much. Let the pictures speak the words.

Yummy Fish & Chip and Tomato Soup.
Our lunch of the day at Keukenhof..
Everyone looks so relax and enjoying their lunch here.

You can buy beautiful tulip display here for your friends or for house deco purposes.

There are many lakes here and so many swans.

In our small hut hut.

I always love him to piggy back me. He did that when we were in Korea too.

Beautiful picture where you are able to see many of these scenes there.
Be it couples or old folks, they just love to spend their time talking and lazy around at bench.

I love sitting on the floor.

This is a big musical box.

Super Nice Ice Cream. Must try when you come here.

After our trip at Keukenhof., we about to enjoy a canal cruise. Relax onboard a glass-domed motor launch cruising down canals flanked by gabled houses. You can see many water houses here.

This is one of the water boat house. It is expensive if I never remember wrongly.

Next, we visit a diamond house in Amsterdam and see master craftsmen working on exquisite diamonds.

After these we went on our leisure time to shop around Amsterdam. Our tour guide Alvin brings us around to the red light district. Even though is afternoon, some of the "shops" are still doing business. As we are unable to take any pictures. I found a link and you can fetch more information from here.

Extract from the above website:
Things to do in Amsterdam Red Light District
To make sure you get the best out of the Red Light District and that it doesn’t get the worse out of you, stick to these tips closely:
  1. Do not take photos of the occupied windows - this is strictly prohibited and any attempt will be quickly stamped out (it could get messy, you have been warned!). Enjoy some discrete Red Light District pictures that are also available for free download, see our copyright license.
  2. Watch out for pick-pocketers, as this is almost always an extremely overcrowded area.
  3. Try and go in a group or at least go in twos to avoid attracting any unwanted attention.
  4. Do not buy from dealers -whether its drugs or bikes- or else you will find yourself on the other side of the law!
  5. Don’t visit the Red Light District first otherwise you may get the wrong idea about the Dutch and Amsterdam as this is not all we are about! Enjoy yourself, as a trip down the RLD will leave a lasting impression.

I remember one of the tourists, not from our group, he was taking pic of the window girls. They quickly shut their curtain. One of the girls still point middle finger at him. So better dont take pic there remember people.
So far, I love Amsterdam.

Beautiful Country =)
